Welsh Georgian Oak Chest On Chest
A particularly lovely oak chest on chest, well proportioned, finely detailed and with an excellent colour and patina. The dentil-moulded cornice sits above a fine, blind fretwork frieze, the similarly detailed fretwork decorating the canted angles flanking the four graduated tiers of drawers, the lower half fitted with a brushing slide and three long drawers, on bracket feet.
The pine-lined drawers retaining most of their original brass handles and escutcheons.
Probably Glamorganshire circa 1780-1800.
Dimensions:
105 cms wide at the waist, 112 cms wide at the cornice, 189 cms high, 52 cms deep.
