Rare Sycamore Welsh Spoon Rack & Eighteen Spoons
A Welsh spoon rack of traditional, stepped form and eighteen assorted spoons of varying designs and dates.
Most Welsh spoon racks are made from oak or pine. Unusually, this one is made from sycamore which has acquired a rich colour and excellent patina. Each of the three tiers is pierced to accommodate six cawl spoons.
The rack is probably from Carmarthenshire, circa 1800-1820.
